Cutting wood on a milling machine
It tells how I cut a thick burl on my WMD-25 milling machine.
The machine can now be used to install not only large-diameter circular cutters, but also circular circular saws. Therefore, I was able to easily cut the thick burl.

Using a circular saw with a diameter of 230 mm, I cut the burl of an American maple tree.
The fallen tree apparently lay there for a long time, and the burl began to rot. And that’s why it turned out to have an unusual pattern.
Each section was processed with a belt sander.
Sanded it. Covered with varnish. Framed it.
I think it turned out beautifully.
This is how I managed to cut a large burl into plates on a WMD-25 milling machine using a circular saw, because I expanded the capabilities of the machine by making a simple homemade bushing.
And now it is possible to install large-diameter circular saws on a milling machine.
