On Leg 8, as we sailed from Qikiqtarjuaq to Pond Inlet (Mittimatalik), Nunavut, we saw some absolutely beautiful treasures of the Canadian Arctic. From the sight of the towering Sam Ford Fiord to the quiet murmur of a melting iceberg, the environment never ceased to inspire us. In the midst of this serene beauty, on board the ship, our participants broached the incredibly difficult subject of reconciliation. Drawing upon their own personal experiences, we shared valuable knowledge and stories and pushed ourselves to understand different perspectives. Thank you to the generous communities of Nunavut for welcoming us to your land and to the participants of Leg 8 for opening yourself to this profound experience.
Durant l'Étape 8, lorsque nous avons navigué de Qikiqtarjuaq à Pond Inlet (Mittimatalik) au Nunavut, nous avons eu la chance d’observer de vrais trésors de l'Arctique canadien. L'environnement n'a jamais cessé de nous inspirer: de l’imposant fjord Sam Ford, au murmure silencieux d'un iceberg fondant. À travers cette beauté sereine, à bord du navire, nos participants ont abordé le délicat sujet de la réconciliation. En se basant sur leurs expériences personnelles, ils ont partagé des connaissances et des histoires difficiles, et se sont ouverts à de différentes perspectives. Merci aux généreuses communautés du Nunavut qui nous ont accueillis sur leur terre, et aux participants de l'Étape 8 qui se sont plongés dans cette profonde aventure.
