In this Yin Yoga practice for mindfulness, instead of giving you affirmations to think about, I pose questions about what you are feeling -- and where. It's important to get in touch with how poses make you feel. If you're open to it, you can be your own best teacher.
Taking the time to get in tune with how asanas feel in your body can help you deepen your Yoga practice. Over time it may even help you prevent injury! Every body is unique. Every day your body will feel different: one day a pose may feel easy, and the next it can feel hard.
I may suggest that a pose will help you feel a certain body part -- and you might be frustrated because you don't feel it where I'm suggesting you ought to feel it. That's normal! Either enjoy the stretch you are getting, or see if you can move some way that lets you feel it where I'm suggesting you should -- if that's what you want to do.
