Have you been feeling more irritable lately? In Ayurveda Summer is considered to be Pitta (fire + water). If your Ayruvedic Dosha is also Pitta, you get a double whammy! People who are predominantly Pitta can be great leaders, organized, driven. Out of balance, though, and with the fire of Summer added in, it's easy to get irritable.

When your first Chakra, Root of Muladhara, is out of balance, that may also be contributing to irritability.

This Yin Yoga practice concentrates mainly on the Liver Meridian (also Gall Bladder and a little bit Kidney): the top of your foot, your groin, your inner thighs. There's a lot of deep hip openers, too.

One symptom of a stagnant flow of Chi in your Liver Meridian is -- you guessed it -- irritability! This practice will concentrate on many of the areas of your subtle body that, when blocked, can produce irritability. It will also cool you down and makes a good post run cool down. Honestly, almost all Yin Yoga makes a great post run cool down!

We'll warm up and work up to some slightly more advanced poses like Squat and Frog -- with lots of modifications offered.

We won't stay too long in these the more difficult poses, and as always, if you'd like to hold any pose longer, simply pause the video and do so.

Bandit decided to hang out and practice with me for the entire video -- that was a first!
