Traditionally, there were theatre and music events in the halls of Jülich's inns. They were organized by clubs or touring groups. From 1919 Jülich received two cinemas. Now you could watch new films and were informed by the newsreel about current events in the picture. The technology was modernized with films with sound and color. Due to the increased mobility, evening events in the neighboring cities were now also accessible. From 1933 onwards, the traditional celebrations were reinterpreted by the National Socialists for their own purposes.
