Metris - Expressionless (Lyric Video)
Out of all of the tracks released, this is definitely the one that I connect to the most. From the ambient nature of the track flowing throughout to the ethereal sound design, it has a soothing overtone. But what I love most are the lyrics as they are personal specifically to me. Basically, I have troubles expressing myself, and it often seems like from others that I just have a stoic expression all the time. Personally, I find it difficult to express myself physically with others, yet can do so better when on my own (or at least with people I know). Because of how I can't connect with others that well (partially due to my lack of expression), it has lead to depression in recent years. So it was something I truly wanted to write about and making a song for, because it reflected on me as a person. Whilst I have had lyric-based tracks in the past, I definitely put the most effort into Expressionless as conveying the message of the song in my way was something that couldn't be half-assed; in the end, I think I succeeded. To anyone who relates to this song as well, I consider that a bonus. The track is quite specific with its theming and whatnot, so wasn't intended for being to related with first (moreso understand), but I know others struggle with stuff like this as well, so conveying that in whatever way possible can be nothing but a good thing.
