Wax Seal Types
If you ask me, any and all wax seals are just gorgeous. But it’s fun to know the different types you can make.
Circle - To get a circular wax seal it all comes down to the pour. If you pour your wax into a circle shape and place the stamp right in the center you’ll get a circular shaped wax seal.
Irregular - To get an irregular wax seal you need to use more wax, or pour the wax not in a circle shape. There will be some excess wax on the edges and it will have more of an organic look, but still really pretty.
Lipped edge - A lipped edge is when there is a lip of wax that extends outside of the stamp. You get this by making sure you have a full squeeze of wax before placing your wax stamp.
Raw edge - A raw edge wax seal can be really pretty. To get a raw edge you just need to pour about half the wax that you normally do. Or you can off-center your wax stamp and get a raw edge on one side and a lip on the other.
*Note: If you pour too small of an amount of wax it may get stuck in the stamp. So you want enough that you can pull it off. This will take some trial and error to find the right amount. If it does get stuck, just use a tooth pick to help you pull it off.
