It should come as no surprise that I have been a huge Bond fan for years now, obsessing over even the smallest of details. For instance, the first time Bond wore an Omega on screen was the year I was born. Coincidence? Probably... Yet still, Bond's watches have always been a fascination of mine, so when I had the chance to pick up this Seamaster "James Bond" Limited Edition, I knew I couldn't pass it up. While it may not be the exact watch Bond wears in the new movie, everything this watch (210.22.42.20.01.004) represents and showcases has so much more meaning to me personally.

This particular watch is # 1656 of 7,007 produced and was ordered from HODINKEE's online store shortly after coming back into stock. I had been talking about purchasing a Seamaster for quite some time, even before purchasing my first Tudor Date+Day a few weeks prior. The Seamaster Professional 300m has always seemed like one of the greatest daily watches on the market. With the interchangeable band, subtle (yet bold) design, and durability, it has made for one of the best watch experiences I've had yet.
Add to that, that Seamaster "James Bond" Limited Edition comes in a special presentation box, which was a very important aspect of the purchase to me. For a few years, I've collected Bond & Aston Martin memorabilia, focusing around the different era of Bond cinema. Coming across a Bond Edition Seamaster as well as the showpiece of a box, it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up for my small collection.
The Omega Seamaster "James Bond" Limited Edition (ref. 210.22.42.20.01.004) comes with a standard rubber band, which leaves a bit to be desired for daily comfort. In addition to the standard rubber band, the watch also comes with the steel band showcased in the video with the 007 & Omega logo on the clasp - just in case you ever forget what you're wearing, I suppose.
This beautiful 42mm Seamaster Bond Edition is a special 50th anniversary tribute to On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which came out in 1969. The watch features a "50" in the luminescent material on the 10 o'clock point as well as the Bond family coat-of-arms at 12 o’clock.
The clear case back on the Seamaster Bond Edition also features a bit of heritage, whilst stating "We Have All The Time in the World" across the case.
The details in the Omega Seamaster "James Bond" Limited Edition are endless, leaving you a new opportunity each day to discover its different design elements (such as the 18k gold accents), different engravings, and small details throughout that make this watch a work of art.
Technical Features of the Omega Seamaster "James Bond" Limited Edition are featured below:
Between lugs: 20 mm
Bracelet: rubber strap
Case: Steel
Case diameter: 42 mm
Dial color: Black
Crystal: Domed scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment on both sides
Water resistance: 30 bar (300 metres / 1000 feet)

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase this particular watch from one of my favorite online retailers - HODINKEE, after their most recent restock of the model. This was my first time purchasing a new watch from HODINKEE, and I can say with confidence they are the first place I will continue shopping when looking for another timepiece. I'm very pleased with their customer service throughout the process, the insurance availability, and the above and beyond presentation they go through with their shipping and unboxing experience.

In terms of the video, we decided to shoot this in a bit of a different way - utilizing one of our cars in the intro. For the video, we used our 2011 Aston Martin Vantage V8 to add to the dramatic thrill of the unboxing experience. Sure, Bond never drove that generation Vantage, but it's all about the fun of experiencing a Bond timepiece with an Aston Martin whose license plate references the greatest MI6 SPY of all time.
