How to Import text file into Excel.
In MS Excel 2016, the user inputs data into the spreadsheets in the different cells. This information is either arranged in rows or columns with the first row having the label of the values within that particular row or column. However, in other instances the user does not have to type the values to be utilized in different forms of analysis, this is often whereby the data already exists in different sources. Data existing in other secondary sources is in different file formats from, text files to CSV file types. This data at times is too much for the user to input all over again in the excel file as this would be a redundant process.
MS Excel 2016 offers the user a feature for importing files in excel. This feature enables the user to go to the data tab, select the type of file format that they wish to import, then a window will appear whereby the user selects the file location on where the file is stored. Once the user completes this process the data will automatically appear on the spreadsheet as it appears in the secondary data source. The user can then go ahead to perform different computations on the data.
