OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN Gimme Some Lovin'
A lesser known recording by legend that is, Dame Olivia Newton-John and another rockier outing for the sweet sounding singer, on her late 1978 'Totally Hot' LP. I have had this in my collection for years and wanted to share a joyous clip to continue to honour and celebrate this once in a lifetime entertainer. 'Gimme Some Lovin'' was originally recorded and written by Steve Winwood as part of The Spencer Davis Group some dozen years before Olivia memorialised it. The song would also attract attention in 1980, thanks to the Blues Brothers and that cult classic movie.
I have used on this clip various gifs and also some extended dance footage from the 'Xanadu' movie which is also getting wheeled out in the wake of Olivia's passing. Whilst not a critical hit, 'Xanadu' was an extravaganza in every way. and musically too, it was a massive success for both Olivia Newton-John, The Electric Light Orchestra and Cliff Richard.
