December 2012: Rocky Ridge Bungalows; friendly hosts are Tom & Margaret Naieu; phone +678 5417220 (preferred contact) or 5630028. 10 mins from airport, Tom has his own vehicle and can arrange any transfer or tour. It cost less than 5000 vatu (about $55)per night, per person which included three cooked meals. You can pick your own fresh fruit and coconuts growing anywhere on the property too. BYOG if you like to have a drink; there may be Tusker on hand but probably not much else alcoholic.
See my other clip for an inside view of the cute bungalows; they even have an ensuite with hot water!. The food is wonderful, made with fresh local produce including Tanna coffee for breakfast! There is a close up of the menu in the restaurant to get your tastebuds going. This is such a relaxing and peaceful place to stay, I recommend it as a full five shell ni-Van resort.
Take a walk up the road to meet locals and swim at a pristine black sand beach. Snorkel out the front of Rocky Ridge, there is a beautiful coral rimmed blue hole to explore. There's so much to do, you'll want to stay at least three nights and more.
