This is Miles, one of the Monarchs I am overwintering, passed out in his nectar on 1.23.14! I am just getting around to publishing this finally...he is so cute! Apologies for the terrible shakiness in this video!
Overwintering Update: Of the 8 Monarchs, 5 are still hanging in there -- all three girls, and two of the boys. The Eastern Migrants are making their way back North now, but it will be at least another month before the milkweed begins to grow here...so we have some time to go yet before I will be able to release them. At the end of this video I have included a graphic from Monarch Watch with data on which milkweed species [Asclepias] are needed by Eastern and Western Monarchs.
