The puppets at PUPPET STORE are a collaborative creation between the late BÄST from Brooklyn and Paul INSECT from London. Both artists shared a mutual passion for puppets from a young age, despite lacking traditional puppet-making experience. They crafted the puppets using discovered and recycled materials. These characters are often influenced by music and graffiti culture, while the individual personalities loosely draw inspiration from celebrities, cartoons, or people observed during performances.
INSECT and BÄST also filmed themselves dancing in various costumes they designed, ranging from oversized stereos to animal heads, all in alignment with the artists' consistently anonymous approach.
