It's dry in north-west NSW; no useful rainfall for months.
I visited Bingara on the Gwydir River with photographer friends Ian and Judy, and was surprised to see the town common was beige dry and littered with horse droppings; an unattractive background for bird photography. What a change from its lush appearance in recent wet years. The Gwydir River was low, but still flowing due to controlled release from Copeton Dam, 58 river kilometres upstream, and 34 kilometres worth of crow beats.
We spent part of our morning photographing ducks and moorhens foraging in a riffle. I shot 4K 60fps and FHD 240fps video and ProCapture sequences to get the material for this Natureel video. I hope you enjoy it.
The soundtrack is 'Antarctica' composed and played by my friend Fiona Joy Hawkins (fionajoy.com).
