Australia's Willie Wagtail is a feisty bird of bushland and backyards. It's not afraid to launch physical protests against birds much bigger, such as Wedge-tailed Eagles.
In this video, I share some video and stills of the Willie Wagtail photobombing episodes I've captured in the last few years.
Willie's scientific name (Rhipidura leucophrys) means "Fantail with white eyebrows". Did you know that Willie Wagtails can flare their eyebrows in display or as an intimidatory gesture? (see the first sequence in the video).
