For Human Rights! Consul Shevchenko about MKQ
The exhibition "I am OUT of Ukraine. I am IN Ukraine" describes the situation of queer people in wartimes. From November 3, the twelve portraits are displayed in the gay-queer centre SUB in Munich, Müllerstraße 14. They were curated by Munich Kyiv Queer's partner KyivPride.
As a speaker was invited Consul Dmytro Shevchenko from the Ukrainian Consulate General in Munich. He sent us a video message (in German) and opened the exhibition with an impressive speech.
Munich Kyiv Queer, he said, and its work for queer people in Ukraine must be seen as part of a broader civil rights movement bringing Ukraine closer to Europe. He thanked Munich's community for its Human Rights activities in Ukraine.
