Dear friends, this is Conrad from Munich Kyiv Queer and here’s a new update after a long break. We were so busy collecting donations right now.
We have collected around 138.000 Euros with Munich Kyiv Queer thanks to your help, but by today, only 9.700 Euros are left. We actually could still use your help!
You know that people in Ukraine sit in the cold and dark right now. They have lost their jobs, income, sometimes their home, family and friends. LGBTIQ* are a vulnerable group and need our care – they often have experienced discrimination, cannot rely on solid family structures, friends may have left the country due to the war.
Every person in need we provide with 200 Euros to cover basic needs like food, hygienic products, medicaments, warm clothes for around two to three weeks. Some need money for HIV-medication, hormones, documents, a trip to safer regions or abroad. You can imagine how fast the money is spent! But we need it so people can survive.
Like Lana, trans* person from Dnipro – she needs documents to leave the country. Like Iryna – a lesbian woman from Mariupol – who stayed to care for her grandmother. And Denys – a gay man from a village on the countryside who lives with his grandmother, too. They need money for food.
We understand that now we ourselves need to save money to cover high prizes on energy and food – so only donate if you can. Our friends in Ukraine will be very grateful.

HELP FOR LGBTIQ* ORGANISATIONS To support LGBTIQ* in Ukraine we have helped set up the Alliance Queer Emergency Aid Ukraine, in which around 40 German LGBTIQ* Human Rights organisations are involved. All these groups have access to very different Human Rights organisations in Ukraine and use funds for urgently needed care or evacuation of queer people.
