Alcohol Abuse
Geoffrey Phillips, M.D., of St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California,
discusses alcoholism and the negative health and social impacts drinking
and alcohol abuse can have. Dr. Phillips also looks at the latest
treatments and rehab programs available to help an alcoholic break the
cycle of alcohol addiction. In this video, he explains how drinking
problems get started and the latest research on what causes some people
to become an alcoholic. Alcohol abuse treatments he discusses include
detox, alcoholism counseling and 12-step programs.
