MSHDA 2023 Development Highlights

[TRANSCRIPT] A lot of people, you know, standing here just see a construction site. But what we don't see is the years, the thousands of emails, the hundreds of phone calls it took for city, local, state officials, the development team, the construction team to get just to this point.
We still have a long way to go. And so we hope that everyone here is dedicated to helping achieve the 190,000 additional housing units that we need throughout the state.
They say home is where the heart is. And so to have the ability to build homes here, it means the world to us.
Well, MSHDA has been a huge supporter of this, and they've really been helpful in building the legislation, working with the legislature and communicating, with stakeholders like us, about how we can move it forward.
What is the real reason that we do this? It's to create housing for people. So here are 49 units of housing for working people here in Meridian Township.
The state legislature has been focused on providing resources so that communities can provide access to options like this.
MSHDA here not just to finance affordable housing, but we're here also to fight and advocate for additional resources and tools to address the housing crisis.
