[TRANSCRIPT] I actually enjoy what I do. It has a huge impact on the people of Michigan.

It's a job unlike any that I've had in the past.

One word that describes this culture is industrious. I mean, it is nonstop. It is relentless. We are working on something new, it feels like every day.

And when people ask me what MSHDA is, I tell them that it's an ecosystem, that there are so many moving parts. There are so many programs,
so many policies, and so many partners that we have.

Some of my favorite times of working at MSHDA have been those opportunities where we can actually get together with our local partners in this process and spend time together.

Once a year, we have an all-staff meeting where we bring people from MSHDA all together in one room, in one setting. To be in that room
and look around and see everyone together, and to see the excitement on people's faces when they get to see coworkers that work in another city that they don't get to see every day feeling gratitude for one another. It is a great feeling and there's nothing like it.

Spending time like that is, it's just such a joy. And it's a reminder of the work that we do, why we do it.

We'll be driving somewhere and I'll drive past a MSHDA development and I point it out and go, we did that. That's a MSHDA property. I really developed a sense of pride, and it's nice to be able to go out into different parts of the state and see the fruits of your labor, the programs and other work that you've been able to support. MSHDA does great work. We get things done in the state. We help people find homes.

There's a great sense of pride with MSHDA employees and what they do, and I think that's what makes them unique.

I think we all get that sense of connection that we're helping families. We really reconnect with that sense of purpose, of providing affordable housing.

You don't get bored here. You're always challenged.

Working at MSHDA allowed me to expand on my experience, utilize what was coming in the future, and then feel good at the end of the night
that I wasn't pushing product. If I had to describe MSHDA’s culture in one word, it would be dynamic. Dynamic in its employees dynamic in its delivery and dynamic in its programs that it offers. MSHDA’s true philosophy and mission is to create sustainable, equitable housing for all. So I think it's very important for the state to have MSHDA.

Many veterans that work at MSHDA, I think what really translates is for any service member, you have a job to do, but your number one job is taking care of who's on the left and right of you. And if you do that and you do that well, you will be successful on your mission.
