Finding Old Friends - Anthem - Ep 8 - Getting The Team Back Together
Welcome to Mythkiller Productions! As always I will be your host, SiriMythkiller, as I tracked down the other surviving members of my team. Things were...awkward at best and Owen nearly got himself killed. Typical day in the life of a Freelancer.
This started when I got a strange message from Owen after returning from a contract. He said to meet him in the bar. When I did, he was chilling, smoking a pipe, and claimed that he had gotten a message from me. And who showed up? Tassyn, of course. I don’t know why she insists on doing things this way. I talk to her ALL THE TIME next to the Launch Bay!
Anyway, she had intel that the Monitor was going after the Cenotaph and he thinks he can control it. Things were pretty serious given that she started knocking back glasses of wine. I protested that we weren’t equipped to handle the Heart of Rage. Tassyn dropped her ace in the hole; she knew where Haluk and Faye where. After that bombshell, she took off, leaving me and Owen to decide how we were going to negotiate with their host, Princess Zhim of the Regulators.
We “acquired” some stolen weapons and relics for Zhim from several Scar camps then hunted down an Ursix for fresh meat. The base was truly like one big party but Princess Zhin, Haluk, and Faye, were easy to find. Haluk was NOT pleased to see me, Faye seemed puzzled but happy, and Zhin was DEFINITELY amused, especially when I stepped in and saved Haluk’s deal before he insulted her.
After Zhin left, things got ugly between me and Haluk. He was obviously still furious about what happened in the Heart Of Rage. That’s when Dominion troops crashed the party. Haluk and Faye made a run for their strider and Owen picked up a Javelin suit somewhere. He did alright while I cleared up the attack on the hideout but overheated when the Dominion began attacking Haluk’s strider. He panicked and the suit locked up, leaving him helpless while I dealt with the rest of the enemies. Not gonna lie, I was REALLY scared I was going to lose him.
Once Owen was repaired and we were all safely on board, I tore a new one in Owen. Faye stilled seemed to be cautiously pleased to see me again. We were just sitting down for some coffee when an actuator blew and I had to go help Haluk fix it. He HATED the idea of working with me but Faye talked him around for this “one job.”
The intel the Dominion wanted so badly has to do with the location of General Tarsis’ original Javelin, the one she used to get into the Heart Of Rage. Faye and Haluk had worked out a deal with Zhin for locations to check. As such, Faye was planning to be my cypher for the duration. Owen was obviously bummed he was going to be taking back seat on this mission.
