Hello to all our Fox Hallow Fam and Happy 4th Anniversary. This week marks four years of us bringing good times and good to you all here on YouTube. Join us as we bring you a fun simple recipe for mini pork pies. They are savory little pies that are so good. So if you are ready then lets have some fun
Mini Pork Pies
1½ tsp corn starch
½ cup plus 2 Tbsp chicken broth
1 lb ground pork
1½ tsp minced garlic
¾ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
2 sheets refrigerated pie crust
1 lg egg
2 tsp milk
• Preheat oven to 425°.
• In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch and broth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil gently for 1-2 minutes, or until thickened. Remove from heat.
• In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the pork, garlic, nutmeg and cayenne pepper until no longer pink, breaking the pork into crumbles.
• Add the broth mixture and stir until thickened. Cool slightly.
• Unroll both pie crusts. On a lightly floured work surface, roll each into a 12” circle. Cut ten 4” circles and ten 2¾” circles, re-rolling scraps as needed.
• Press the larger circles into muffin cups, pressing to the bottom and sides. Fill each muffin cup with about 3 Tbsp pork mixture. Place the small circles over the filling and press with a fork to seal.
• In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush over the tops of the pies. Cut slits in the crusts.
• Bake at 425° for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove pies to a wire rack and serve warm.
