Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Biscuits:
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
2 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup butter, melted
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Topping:
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1 Tbsp parsley
½ tsp garlic powder
• Preheat oven to 450°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
• In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and melted butter. Pour over the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until just moistened.
• Gently fold in the cheese.
• Drop by large spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet.
• Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
• Meanwhile, whisk the butter, parsley and garlic powder together for the topping. Brush the tops of the warm biscuits with the butter mixture.
• Serve immediately.
