Salsa is a variety of sauces used at the table as condiments for tacos and other Mexican and Mexican-American foods, and as dips for tortilla chips. They may be raw or cooked and are generally served at room temperature.
INGREDIENTS:
Onion
Bunch of cilantro
Garlic cloves
Lemon juice
Green chillies/Jalapeno
Garlic powder(Optional)
Salt
Tomatoes
Pepper powder
PREPARATION:
Chop all the raw tomatoes, onions, green chillies/Jalapeno, cilantro, garlic into a fine chop and combine in a large bowl.
Add the lemon juice and salt to taste. Keep it aside for some time.
Blacken/roast the tomatoes and red dry chillies in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Get the skin's dark as possible to give a roasted flavour and keep it aside to cool.
Blend the roasted chillies and tomatoes to a fine smooth paste.
METHOD:
Heat a pan and pour the roasted tomato-chilli paste.
Add in chopped matters to the paste and mix well for a second.
Add in cooked kidney beans (or any other lentils you need) and cook for less than 5 mins.
If required add in some chopped cilantro.
Serve it with Hot Mashed Potatoes or with chips as a Dip.
