Incheon Airport is Korea's gateway to the world.
With increasing passenger traffic, the Phase 4 construction project for Incheon Airport began in 2017, and is now nearing completion.
It is scheduled to open to the public in the second half of this year.
Once construction is complete, it will become the world's third-largest airport, with a capacity equivalent to 200 soccer fields.
Reporter Kim Ji-young took a tour of the Phase 4 construction site.

The sculptures installed on the ceiling of Incheon Airport's departure hall slowly move.
These sculptures depict extinct animals, such as whales,
and they appear according to an AI algorithm.
The airport also features an outdoor garden where travelers can relax before boarding,
and a departure system based on biometric authentication, including smart check-in.
Incheon International Airport's Phase 4 construction, which began in 2017, is nearing completion.
The core of Phase 4 is the expansion of both wings of Terminal 2.
The fourth runway also began operations in 2021.
The project cost 4.8 trillion won, and construction is currently 96% complete.

"This expansion project has been prepared to meet the ever-increasing demand for air travel. It will be approximately 384,000 square meters, equivalent to 50 soccer fields. In addition, there will be a runway. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art aviation complex and aircraft maintenance facilities are planned to support the aviation industry. Overall, the terminal will be the size of approximately 200 soccer fields."
With the expanded terminal,
the number of flights is expected to increase by 100,000, and cargo capacity is expected to increase by 1.3 million tons.
Furthermore, passenger capacity will increase by approximately 37% from the previous 77 million,
reaching an annual passenger volume of 100 million.
Incheon Airport began construction on its land in 1992.
After Terminal 1 began operations in 2001,
the third runway, the second phase of the project, was built in 2007.
Following this, Terminal 2 was built in 2018, in line with Phase 3.
With this fourth phase of construction, Incheon Airport will now have two terminals and four runways.
Upon completion in October,
the plan is to make Incheon Airport the world's third largest airport, following Dubai and Istanbul.
