Many customers still think they need (and deserve) an 'accurate' software estimation. But it's rarely possible to be 100% accurate, and sometimes it's hard to even get close. Both clients and vendors need to understand the process for estimating projects, as well as the difficulties and risks involved. Mostly, they need to keep in mind that even a well thought out estimate can't be viewed as 100% reliable.
