Americans LOVE contracts. Put it in writing because, to us, the contract is king. Our emphasis on upholding a formal agreement isn’t universal cross-culturally, though. When your offshore software team considers your contract more of a guide than a binding legal agreement, it can easily affect your project and your relationship with your team.
Don't assume that your interpretation of the contract is the same as your team's. Communication is always the most important aspect when working with an offshore team.
