Ultimate GTA V installation guide for XENIA | Xenia Canary
A lot of people still have problems with installing GTA V, so I made a new guide. I can't make it any simpler than this.
00:00 - Tutorial
01:30 - Proof it's playable past Prologue
Steps:
1. "Install content" Disc 1
2. "Install content" 4 files from xenia directory:
content/545408A7/00007000/D49129A5FEED466719ED/content/0000000000000000/545408A7/00000002/4 files
3. "Install content" Title Update (TU)
4. Play from Disc 2
If your game is already in XEX format for whatever reason, start with step 2.
After you installed Disc 1, it can be deleted. You only need installation files in Xenia directory and Disc 2 to play with. So Xenia with all the things you need should be around 15 GB.

Q: TU is installed properly, but the game still won't go past Prologue.

"break_on_debugbreak = false" - there is a chance this might help with random crashes. For me, it's not needed.
Q: Xenia crashes or freezes when I do "install content".
A: Disc 1 in GOD is a big file, and it will take time to install. Depending on how fast your CPU and storage is, it can take a couple of minutes. Shortly after selecting "install content", Xenia will stop responding, but DON'T try to close it. Just let it run and do its job.
A: If Xenia crashes on its own, without you messing with it, or if it simply can't go through the process for other reasons, skip step 1. Convert your GOD to XEX with other software and start with step 2.
Q: How to improve performance?
60FPS and water fix: • GTA V | 60 FPS patch and water fix | ...
vsync = false (won't go above 30fps without a patch)
log_level = -1 (minimal perf gain. Usually when CPU limited)
host_guest_stack_synchronization = false (minimal perf gain)
d3d12_queue_priority = 2 and run as admin (hit or miss. For me, it does nothing)
Q: How to get rid of lens flare/sun flare?
A: query_occlusion_fake_sample_count = 0
Q: How to fix shadows and water?
A: Enable readback_resolve. Fixes water and shadows, but reduces performance.

Q: Audio is delayed
A: Try tuning "max_queued_frames", 32 is a good start. If it's still bothering you, lower to 16 (it's not recommended to go below 16).

Q: How do I know my game format?
A: If you dump it from unmodded X360 it comes in GOD.
A: If you have RGH, you can dump it straight to XEX, so you can skip installing GOD package into Xenia directory. Or use a plugin for Aurora which lets you dump to GOD.
Q: I pirated GTA V but it's .iso, what do I do?
A: Use iso2god to convert it to GOD, or exiso to convert to XEX.
