As we age balance/stability is often a limiting factor in mobility training. To increase mobility you need to be able to reach, step or lunge through a greater amplitude of movement. The further you can reach, step or lunge the more balance/stability you need. As a result limitations in balance/stability will lead to short amplitudes of reaching, stepping or lunging.
Using a band to help reduce balance issues while assisting with stability will in turn help improve mobility by allowing for large amplitude of movement.
Here is a simple band assisted mobility routine to test out this theory and start improving your mobility.
