We typically think of Virtual Sets as a way to create a digital studio environment when shooting in front of a green screen. While that is definitely one of the main uses for this technology, green screens can also be leveraged to generate incredibly flexible graphic elements for your more traditional productions as well.
On today’s show, we’ll go over a virtual set we made in vMix that will render a completely configurable “football helmet” graphical element. It will let you dynamically change the color of the helmet and the logo on the side of it – and then use it as an overlay on other inputs. We will also show how we created the individual elements in Photoshop (like UV Maps and Shading overlays) and the steps needed to assemble them into a Virtual Set.
