Today I am sharing with you a wonderful recipe of making black eyed peas that you can make your own.
Black eyed peas are very mild in flavor!
You can add or omit any spices/herbs you don’t like but do not miss the garlic .
Adjust as you need this recipe will feed 4 adults when you incorporate rice.
Even my son who don’t like beans enjoyed this recipe .
Ingredients:
600g coooked black eyed peas( I usually cook a lot and freeze) You just need to boil for fast cooking soak overnight)
*1 big onion
2-3 Tbsp oil I used sunflower
*1 thumb size ginger
*2-3 cloves of garlic
*1/4-1/2 tsp cumin seeds or ground cumin
*1/2 tsp turmeric
*1/2 tsp garam masala
*1/4 tsp chili powder ( I used Kashmir) add more if you like it hot.
*1 tsp ground corriander ( optional)
*1 tsp sugar (optional)as the tomatoes tend to be tangy .
1 maggi cube optional
*salt and pepper
*5 tomatoes or 250g canned
*300ml water
*250g coconut milk
This curry will be more on the mild side if you like it hot add more chili and adjust spices as wished.
