In this lecture we discussed about polymerase chain reaction also known as PCR. We elaborated in vitro gene cloning with the help of pcr. We also discussed that what is reaction mixture or pcr components and what components are required to run pcr. In pcr mechanism there are basically three steps which repeat again and again to produce million of copies of target dna in less time.
The steps are dna Denaturation, primer annealing and polymerization or extension. PCR is invented by Kary Mullis in 1983 and awarded noble prize in 1993.
The lecture is equally important for all biology students especially for federal board biology second year students.
