This video, by pilot Karen Ewart, shows three take-offs at Triple Tree Aerodrome (SC00) near Woodruff, SC using the rain-soaked turf runway at that field. More than 100 planes had arrived for the famous "Chilly Chili" luncheon, always on the first weekend in February. With all those arrival and departures, a few sections of the runway became very wet and muddy. The two taildraggers departed without a fuss, but the much heavier Cessna T210 struggled as the tires sank into the mud. To make matters worse, the far end of the Triple Tree runway features a substantial hill, and the heavy Cessna, having finally made it through the mud, was slow to accelerate up the hill.
