# 7 Tecsun PL-990 Scanning Short Wave with MLA-30 + Loop Antenna
I am scanning the Short Wave on the Tecsun PL-990 using the MLA-30 + Loop Antenna. The time is about 7 am. I am in Levelland, Texas. I started at about 2300. I will rotate the selector wheel slowly looking for stations. I think I much prefer this method to simply letting the radio run a scan, which picks up lots of static as stations. When I usually do this method, I stop and write down a station that is fairly clear. They say Short Wave is dead, but I have learned that nights are best, but mornings can be worthwhile, if not too early, I could probably have tuned some of these in more clearly, but was really more interested in getting through the band for the sake of the video. If future vides, I will be attempting to get better reception.
