This event is known as the salmon run.
For the bears, it’s a feast! Salmon provide the fat and protein they need to prepare for hibernation.
Just one fish provides around 4,500 calories, and they can eat more than 20 a day. That's a staggering 90,000 calories. 40 times more than the average human adult.
