Webinar #25: Repeat Treatments—Why Patients Keep Coming Back
The genie grants three wishes but won't grant wishes for more wishes. Yet patients repeatedly return for exosome treatments. Why? Dr. Ed Park analyzes 2.5 years of clinical data: 158 unique patients, 50 with repeat sessions, 731 injection sites, and zero serious adverse effects.
How Long Do Exosomes Last?
Physical exosomes: hours to days (they're sticky, like dandelion seeds—they bind to first cells encountered).
Lasting effects: weeks to permanent, depending on the organ.
Why? The real magic isn't the proteins—it's the mRNA and microRNA. mRNA can persist for weeks, producing thousands of copies of healing proteins. MicroRNAs block differentiation signals, allowing cells to act younger and de-differentiate. Brain effects are most permanent (Dr. Park can still make his hair stand on end involuntarily 2 years after one nasal injection). Joints undergoing constant re-injury (knees, shoulders) show shorter-lasting benefits because damage recurs.
The Analogy:
A car wash lasts years if you keep the car in a vault. But drive it around? It gets dirty again. Same with joints—you can stay ahead of the curve (preventive repeat treatments) or fall behind (damage recurs).
Clinical Data:
158 unique patients
50 had repeat sessions (33% repeat rate)
731 injection sites across 2.5 years
Most frequent treatments: IV, nasal, muscles/ligaments, knees, shoulders, epidural
No serious adverse effects (including Duncan Ross's 50 injections at once = 250 billion exosomes)
~13 patients reported no benefit (very low failure rate)
Four Reasons for Repeat Treatments:
1. Getting Ahead of the Curve (Preventive):
RA (weightlifter): 11 sessions. After 4 sessions, zero pain. Continued to rebuild cartilage. Now squats 1,000 lbs, runs hills, kicks heavy bags.
Doug Malawicki (82): Ran 2,300 miles on treated knees. Did repeat injection at 2,000 miles to stay ahead. Had partial tibial plateau replacement but continues aggressive activity.
2. New Injuries:
AD (mountain biker): Fractured scapula in June 2019. Treated rotator cuff, resolved. Re-injured months later, flew to SF for repeat treatment. Shoulders improved again.
Dr. Park's scooter accident: Chain hit at 20 mph, fractured ribs. Repeat treatment accelerated intercostal recovery.
3. Old Problems on the Checklist:
Akimi (60, Hawaii): 7–8 treatments. First: whiplash/military neck resolved, brain fog cleared, driving improved. Later: 10 billion IV resolved persistent dental pain and cold tolerance issues.
4. Anti-Aging Maintenance:
RL (74): Radical prostatectomy (2017) + external beam radiation = severe erectile dysfunction. Treated with prostaglandin injections. After exosome treatment 2 years ago, patellar pain resolved. Last week: 15 billion (9 billion IV + 6 billion nasal) to stay young. Believes exosomes helping.
Key Psychological Concepts:
Recall bias: If you believe something helped, you tend to remember it that way
Attribution bias: You credit the treatment for improvements
Asymmetric risk-reward: Lose a couple thousand dollars, but gain permanent repair—a bet most patients take
Why Repeat Treatments Make Sense:
Bodies are constantly decaying. Tendons and cartilage can't repair themselves (stem cells are "burned out"). Exosomes briefly regenerate these tissues. Once patients experience benefits, they believe in the treatment and return for:
New injuries
Preventive maintenance
Anti-aging
Gains optimization
Cost-Benefit:
Most practitioners charge more for difficult/multiple sites. Dr. Park doesn't—you pay for exosome volume only. This encourages comprehensive treatment in single sessions.
Bottom Line:
Repeat treatments aren't about exosomes being temporary fixes—they're about managing aging, preventing re-injury, and staying ahead of the curve. The question isn't "How long do exosomes last?" but "How fast is your body decaying?"
