WTLV NBC First Cosst News at 11:00 PM (Late Edition) + Commercials 12/18/2022
I was in Jax because my dad, brother, sister-in-law and I were going to the Jaguars Cowboys game. So at the hotel I decided to record delayed 11pm on WLTV the NBC affiliate in Jacksonville that aired after football and it was NBC only newscast meaning was not simulcasted on sister-station ABC affiliate WJXX (as the newscast are usually simulcasted on both stations) because ABC wasn’t airing sports its was airing Sunday night lineup that ends at 11pm on time for news so an earlier show was done there. This happens a lot with stations that are duopolies owned by the same company and are affiliated to one of the Big 3 networks or in some cases with FOX, and the news departments are a combined operation like here in Jacksonville with ABC/NBC. It’s means when there preemptions due to network obligations on one of the stations and can’t simulcast then the other station will air it as normal, but when that preemptions end on the other station then there air there own specific newscast for that channel. This was taken after Sunday Night Football, where the New York Giants beat the Washington Commanders 20-12
