Tlaquepaque, Guadalajara Night Tour and Casa Luna Restaurant - May 2021
I have to recommend a visit to Tlaquepaque if you take a trip to Guadalajara. It's about 30 minutes from the Centro of Guadalajara and well worth the ride. Tlaquepaque, along with Guadalajara and Zapopan form a giant metropolis that is basically all one giant area. What makes Tlaquepaque special is that it has been designated as a Pueblo Magico which means they have to keep it looking colonial. They can't just change buildings or the architecture at will. Everything has to fit a look.
It's super romantic and quaint with a lot of restaurants and plaza and the Parian.
I went to eat at a higher end spot called Casa Luna which was super IG ready (if that's your thing). The food and drinks were great and the decor was surreal. I'd go back for sure.
The Parian is a separate square structure surrounding a smaller plaza inside. The building is basically a ring of restaurants that cater to people wanting to enjoy mariachis playing music in the inner courtyard. It's a boisterous time on the weekends, especially Sundays, with strong cold drinks.
