Making a wooden tray on a WMD25 milling machine. You can put a vase with jam and 2 sockets. You can - a coffee pot with cups, you can - a bottle. This item is a good gift.

There is a video on my channel showing how I have already made a drawer on this milling machine and on this turntable, but it was narrower:
“WOOD product on a MILLING machine. Spice stand»
   • Изделие из ДЕРЕВА на ФРЕЗЕРНОМ станке...
In that video, I said that wide workpieces cannot be clamped on this turntable.
To secure wide blanks, I made special, longer croutons. How I made them is shown in my last video:
"Production of SPECIAL CRUSHERS for a turntable":
   • Изготовление СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫХ СУХАРИКОВ дл...
Such crackers allow you to increase the useful working field of the turntable.
To make a tray, I took such a blank from pine. Marked her up. There will be a round notch in the center, and two rectangular ones along the edges.
I inserted home-made long crackers into the T-slots and, as usual, with the help of planks and ladders, fixed the workpiece on the turntable. I placed plates under the slats so that there were no imprints from fastening on the workpiece. As plates I use polished cutters.
For wood processing, I take a regular end mill for light alloys. Slightly sharpened, increased the radius of curvature.
So that the edges do not chip off, I first cut not to the full depth, but to a couple of millimeters. I start milling in a circle, moving away from the center with each circle.
I make the first circle of the smallest diameter. And then I move the table, and I go through the second circle of a slightly larger diameter.
I move the table several times until I get a notch of the desired diameter.
Then I crash to the full depth, i.e. another 2 millimeters, and also pass from the center to the periphery.
I cut rectangular recesses according to the markup. Unlike a round recess, I will mill these recesses in reverse: from the outer contour to the center. Also, at first I crash by 2 mm, and then I crash to full depth, i.e. another 2 mm.
Similarly, I mill another recess by shifting the table.
This is how easy it is to mill wood on a conventional milling machine with a conventional light alloy milling cutter.
And so - with the help of special elongated croutons - it is possible to fix workpieces of rather large sizes on the turntable.
It remains to process the tray with sandpaper and varnish.
This is how the wooden tray turned out. Such a product is a good gift made of wood.
