Welcome to another episode of Sports Encyclopedia Series where you can learn about every single game that has ever existed on planet Earth.
Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about American Handball.
American Handball or Wall ball is an American sport in which players use their hands to hit a small rubber ball against the wall.
American Handball can be played between two, three, or four players.
The objective for players is to hit the small rubber ball with their hands against the wall standing in the service zone.
The game is played in a walled court of the dimension 40x20 feet which can be either single-walled, three-wall, or fully enclosed with four walls and a ceiling.
The back wall which is around 12 feet high is made out of glass.
The front walls are 20 square feet while the side walls are 40 feet in length and 20 feet in height.
There is a short line drawn in the middle of the court.
The service zone lies between a line 5 feet from the middle line and the middle line.
The opponent player is supposed to hit the ball when it bounces back without the ball touching the ground twice.
Each time a player manages to make their opponent lose a shot, points are rewarded.
At the end of the game, the player with the highest score wins.
