Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about Knee Polo.
Knee Polo is an infusion of adrenaline, strength, and tricky shots that pushes the body to its limits.
The basic objective of the game is to score more goals than the opponent.
Knee Polo is played between two teams of three players each on an indoor place with space 3 x 6 meters.
The game is played with small water polo balls, two goals, knee pads, and gloves for the goalkeepers.
The two goals are placed on two ends of the court.
At the beginning of the game, the ball is placed at the center and the game begins with a kick off.
All players are required to stand on their knees at all times except for the goalkeepers who can sit.
If a player sits down or stands up a penalty is given.
The basic objective of the game for the players is to pass the ball among their teammates to drive the ball inside the opponent’s goal post.
The game is played for a set duration of 12 minutes in four equal intervals.
If the game is stopped for any reason such as an injury, the last period is adjusted to make up for that time.
The team that loses is punished with egg tossing and fish slaps.
If any player in the team engages in foul play, abuses, or hits their opponent, a time out is given to them.
The team that scores the most goals in the given duration of time is declared as the winner.
