Chatarunga is one of the most common poses in flow or vinyasa style yoga. And it is the pose most commonly done improperly. Why is this a problem? Because it is a pose that is done over and over in yoga flow classes. You may do anywhere from 5 to 25 in a single class! When done wrong, wrist, shoulder and/or elbow injuries are very common and can toss you off to the sidelines of your practice for a long time.

So, in this video, we will talk about the basics. Hands, wrists, elbows shoulders, core and legs. Be sure that you are doing chatarunga properly so you can keep on flowing!

Jen is an E-RYT 500 and has been teaching yoga since 2010. Both her 200 hour and 300 hour trainings were under the Prana Flow umbrella, created by vinyasa pioneer, Shiva Rea. Jen loves to create a playful, challenging flow class that will leave you energized and with a state of calm to carry into your day.
