About this video essay:
In this video essay, I talk about Social Darwinism and how Charles Darwin's work The Origins of Species can be traced to modern conservative and discriminatory policies. We talk about Herbert Spencer, eugenicists and scientific racism in the west, and how we perceive evolution as a superiority ladder, not as a non-direction natural process. Our faulty understanding of evolution links to neo-liberal policies and self-destructive capitalism that we glorify as "natural" way to fight racism and discrimination.
We will see how social Darwinism laces modern politics and semi-political conservatives, how it unites Donald Trump and Tea Party conservatives, Incels and Andrew Tate and Tech-Bros and Billionaires. I will also work about the impact social Darwinism has on modern thinkers such as Stephen Pinker and Jordan Peterson.
