In this video, I discuss the issues of state capitalism and free market capitalism. I go over the book return of state capitalism by Joshua Kurlanzick.
This video talks about the uprising of state capitalism in opposition to free market capitalism, American colonialism and the Washington consensus. I will cover some luring benefits of state capitalism.
We talk about the uprising of colonialism by the state capitalists such as Russia and China. We will also talk about the competition of the states on the international arena and why the progressives of the USA Like Bernie or AOC are looking at state capitalism as an alternative to raging inequality, climate crisis and poverty in US.
I will argue then that the author stops halfway in his critique of state capitalism - he fails to compare state capitalists to modern-day free-market capitalists and draws similarities in the destructive international politics of both. He fails to address the issue that international violence and colonial issues are a product of a powerful state, powerful state of any affiliation.
