These machines command such a lack of interest among vintage typewriter collectors -- someday I think their day will come. The early electrics straddled both worlds, the manual machines that preceded them and the word processors that followed them. This one dates to the middle 1960s; by the middle 1970s Smith-Corona's electrics were vastly outselling their manual typewriters. And to spend some time working with a machine like this is to understand why.
