Just an ingenious design: my admiration for this series of machines (built for Royal by Silver-Seiko of Japan) only grows with every restoration project. One reason the motor on this typewriter is so preternaturally quiet is that its energy is stored in a flywheel whose momentum helps to power the keys. Please do feel welcome to pause the playback at the end and appreciate, close up, the quality of this typewriter's printed impression. (It's elite type, 12 CPI.)
