1972 Royal Apollo 10-GT typewriter at work
Just an ingenious design: my admiration for this series of machines (built for Royal by Silver-Seiko of Japan) only grows with every restoration project. One reason the motor on this typewriter is so preternaturally quiet is that its energy is stored in a flywheel whose momentum helps to power the keys.
