1958 Smith-Corona Silent-Super typewriter at work
Late in the decade, Smith-Corona introduced a version of the Silent-Super with the X suffix, designating machines that added the numeral 1 and exclamation point to the top line of the keyboard. This machine has been gone through carefully and, as you can see, has been refinished in lavender and ivory satin paint.
