Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about Field Archery.
Field Archery is a competitive adventure sport played by archers all around the world.
The game involves players trying to shoot targets at various distances.
The basic objective of the game is to score more points than the opponent.
Field Archery is an individual sport that involves players competing against each other in a wilderness or natural environment.
The game takes place on rocky, unsteady terrain of field archery to make it more challenging and difficult.
The shooters in the game aim at 28 targets in a sequence, shooting 4 arrows at each target.
The targets in the game are set at different distances and angles and must be shot either up or down depending on the kind of target.
The game begins with all the shooters taking their positions.
The game involves three types of shooting fields, hunter and animal.
In the field round, the shooter is required to shoot the targets that are placed at a distance of 80 yards.
In the hunter round, the shooter is required to shoot the targets that are placed at a distance of 70 yards.
Field and Hunter scoring targets are made out of black and white rings.
In the animal rounds, archers are required to shoot at 2 dimensional animal targets that have scoring rings printed on them.
There are two main scoring areas along with a bonus ring in the middle of the higher scoring section.
Only 3 arrows are shot at each of the 28 targets in an animal round. The arrows must be numbered in an animal round.
The targets used in the game vary in size depending on the round being shot at it as well as the distance.
A panel of judges sit at a distance and carefully observe all the participants to score them.
The scores of all the shots of each participant are added up in the end.
The player that manages to score the most points by the end of the game is declared as the winner.
