"Demi wake up." Joe murmered leaning over her, Demi yawned stretching and blinked up at him.
"Hmm?" she mumbled, he held out the envelope and she sat up taking it.
"you weren't lying were you?" he said softly, Demi smiled slightly pulling out the stack of money and counted it.
"Alright, now I need to hire an attorney." She announced, feeling wide awake now.
"We can lend you ours." Joe stated grinning, Demi giggled softly and kissed his cheek.
"Thanks but if I want to get full custody of Seth I'm going to have to do this without help from you guys, I don't want them to think I can't take care of him on my own." Demi explained gently they heard squealing coming from downstairs and Demi hurried towards the sound.
"Your such a good boy.' Denise gushed as she set a plate of spaghetti in front of him.
"No." He announced, she moved to pull it back when he grabbed his fork and started eating happily.
"I guess he does like spaghetti." Paul said laughing softly, Demi walked in and Seth's eyes lit up.
"Dem!" he garbled, Demi giggled softly and walked over wiping at his face.
"Did he say no at first?" Demi asked curiously kissing the top of his head.
"Yeah, does that mean he actually likes it?" Denise asked curiously, Demi nodded and sneaked a bite from his plate.
"I was wondering if I could use your phone." Demi said softly, Paul grinned and took her arm.
"Of course come on you can use my office." paul announced, she smiled gratefully and happily followed him. Seth watched her leave the room and burst into tears.
"DEMI!" He wailed, Denise's eyes widened in surprise as Joe walked over lifted him from the highchair and began walking back and forth to comfort him.
"Whats the matter Seth?" Joe murmered, Denise cleaned up the highchair and stood back with a smile on her face.
"You'll be a great dad someday Joe." Denise murmered, Joe smiled a little embarrassed, Seth snuggled against Joe sighing.
"Thanks mom." Joe murmered, he took seth's bag and headed upstairs.
"So what are you going to do now?" Taylor asked curiously, Ashley was pacing back and forth sighing.
"I don't know, I mean I don't really love Joe but the fact that I could wipe him out for millions for abandonment is very appealing.' Ashley explained, Taylor snorted shaking her head.
"Ashley, Joe believed you were divorced for the past two years. You won't win in court if you say that he abandoned you." Taylor murmered, Ashley just smiled grabbing her purse and keys.
"Here's the money, I'll be back later." Ashley announced handing her a check she hurrie dout of the house.
"Hello yes, my name is Demi Lovato I need to find an attorney who specializes in custodial rights." she quickly wrote down names of people the lady told her.
"I would recommend Stewart Reynolds, he is a family attorney so he has the most experience." The lady announced, Demi wrote down more information about him that she gave her.
"Thank you so much." Demi hung up and rubbed her fae taking a sip of coffee she dialed the number putting it on speaker.
"Mrs. Jonas, what can I do for you?" Stewart said surprised, he was the Jonas' family lawyer after some things went down a few years before.
"I want you to defend me against Joe." Ashley announced, he raised his eyebrows laughing softly.
"Ashley, I was hired by his parents. so I must decline." He explained, she narrowed her eyes at him and sat down across from him.
"Well I need help from a lawyer." She announced, just then his secretary walked in looking surprised at Ashley.
"yes Janie?" he asked turning towards her, she leaned close to him making sure Ashley couldn't hear.
"There's a young lady on the phone requesting a meeting with you." She explained, he nodded and pinned Ashley with a look.
"Thank you Janie, please show Ashley out thank you." he stated picking up the phone, Ashley rolled her eyes reluctantly following the secretary.
"Hello, this is Stewart. what can I do for you?" Demi was so nervous, she needed this guy to help her and she didn't want to mess it up.
"Hi, my name is Demi Lovato and I'm trying to gain custody of my two year old brother. Danielle Deleasa whose father was my social worker got me temporary custody but I need your help." Demi announced, he took down some notes the name ringing a bell.
"Alright, I would like to meet with you Miss Lovato. Where would be good for you?" he asked curiously, Joe walked into the room and Demi glanced up at him holding up a finger to keep him quiet.
"I um I'm staying with the Jonas' do you think you could come to their house?" Demi explained, Stewart raised his eyebrows at this but started putting some papers into a briefcase.
"Of course, I know where they live I can be there in thirty is that a good time?" he asked, Demi agreed and they hung up, Demi flopped back against the seat sighing in relief.
"Did you find someone?" Joe asked curiously leaning against the doorway.
"Yeah, he's on his way here in half hour."
