"since i moved here when I was six. He was my frist friend." Demi murmered, Joe nodded dropping his arm across the back of Demi's chair.
"So, I'm really good at reading people Demi, was there something you wanted to ask me?" Joe murmered, Demi blushed slightly and nodded her head. He raised his eyebrows waiting patiently.
"I was uh, wondering if you wanted to hang out later." She mumbled, he hid his smile and leaned a little closer.
"You have to speak up Demi.' Joe said softly, Demi sighed nibbling on her lip.
"I was wondering, if you wanted to hang out later tonight." Demi said loud enough for him to hear, he slowly smiled.
"Are you sure Nick won't mind?" Joe taunted, Demi shoved his arm away rolling her eyes.
"I told you i dont like him like that." She growled, Joe smiled amused at how fast she could change.
'Whoa tiger, give me your number." joe murmered, she smiled and quickly wrote it down sliding it over to him.
"I work til six, but you can come over after that." Demi announced, looking around to make sure no one was watching them he pulled her chair towards him.
"Is your mommy going to be home." he murmered his mouth close to her ear, she blushed even more.
"maybe.' She said sighing sadly, Joe pushed her back to her spot smiling at her.
"Call you later." He said wiggling his eyebrows, Demi sighed in relief and couldn't wait to tell taylor.
"Yo Demi!" Zac yelled, she was walking past carrying a tray and sighed rolling her eyes and headed to his table.
"yes Zac?" she mumbled, three of other guys were with him and watched curiously
"Could we get more refills?" He asked hopefully, Demi's hands cleched and she slammed the tray down.
"Fine! but after this you guys are helping me. Don't protest, my mom isn't here all the servers called off god knows why and there's only one cook. Its been a long day and I'm pissed, and we're busy!!" She yelled, the place went silent and Zac's mouth was hanging open.
"Demi.' He said softly, she took her tray glared at him and stormed behind the counter taking a deep breath.
"Shit man, now we have to work." david groaned rubbing his face, so much for the party he wanted to go to, Zac hit him lightly.
"its also the anniversary of her dad's death." he said softly, david winced and quickly taking a drink he got up and walked towards Demi.
"I won't know what to do, but where do you need me?" he asked, Demi glanced up at him and smiled through tear filled eyes.
"Thanks." She murmered and handed him a pad of paper and apron, explaining quickly that he should just take everyones orders and she would bring out the drinks and food, Zac and Mitchel would be busboys and sitting people.
"So, how did it go?" Kevin asked curiously, Joe sighed opening up a pop and sat down across from him.
"it went alright, met up with Nick he's good i"ll give him that. I sent the pills to the lab already for testing. oh and I have a date with Demi tonight." he announced Kevin spewed his pop everywhere stunned and Joe laughed softly handing him a towel.
"God you move fast." Kevin murmered shaking his head, Joe nodded in agreement looking at his wath.
"Nick invited me to a party tonight but I decided not to show, I don't want him to think I'm too eager." joe announced, Kevin nodded in agreement and watched him head to the door.
"Just one thing Joe, don't get Demi pregnant and don't hurt her." Kevin announced, Joe rolled his eyes and hurried out the door.
"Mom! Mom I'm home!" Demi yelled setting her things down and shut the door leaning against it exhausted.
Sighing she turned on some lights and looked arouned, her eyes widened when she saw the overturned chairs and broken glass everywhere. Spotting some drops of blood she started to panic and grabbed her phone.
"what the..." Joe murmered pulling up the side of the road he saw an ambulance four police cars sitting in front of Demi's house.
"Excuse me sir you can't go past here." One of the officers announced stopping Joe, he sighed and motioned the officer over, he revealed his badge and he was let through
"Can you tell me what happened?" Joe demanded looking around for Demi.
"A young girl called saying she got home from work and she walked in and found the mess." The man replied, They were walking past the ambulance when Joe paused hearing a soft crying.
"Go on ahead." Joe murmered, he quickly explained that he was undercover and told the man to pass it along.
"Demi." joe murmered, demi was curled up on the stretcher with a bandage around her wrist. Joe climbed into the ambulance and settled on the stretcher next to her.
"Joe." Demi whispered confused, she groaned to herself this was not the way she had wanted to spend the evening.
"What happened?" Joe asked softly, Demi sighed wiping at her tears, joe gently took her bandaged hand and kissed it she blushed a little.
"I came home..and it was..just like when Daddy died." Demi groaned bursting into tears, Joe tugged her to him.
